Day 6 - Feeling Better

Thanks to all with your 'get well' wishes while I was sick. I'm feeling better now and psyched to keep going. The half-meal thing is working out ok although I have to admit sometimes it hovers around 60%...especially if there's meat involved....can't waste that.  I think I need a new jump rope, I got one of those plastic ones and I can't keep a rhythm.

  1. I can empathise with the comment on meat: pazzo. Go to Donki for skipping ropes (or Oshmans)- there is one on your way home there in Shibuya.

  2. Glad you are feeling better, Marc. Also, if you get time at lunch, the Mizuno store in Jimbocho is only one stop on the Hanzomon line from your office and there are normal old school ropes there, too.

  3. Well done on getting through it - you could get Brian to bring you one back too....

  4. Sounds like your rope may be too long. Shorten it and see if that helps with the rhythm.

  5. Hi Marc, I'm a former PCPer, and I've been following your blog. I hope you don't mind if I comment from time to time.

Patrick is probably right about the rope length. Get another rope if you wish, but try adjusting the length first on the one you have. I went through the PCP and the Kung-Fu Body with the same plastic jump rope, and I still jump with it now a year and change later. I'll use it until it breaks. When it does, it'll be like losing an old friend. The only trouble the rope ever really gave that wasn't my own fault was being a little rigid because of the cold some mornings I did my workouts.

And, I'm glad your feeling better too.

  6. @Sean - don't mind at all, welcome all the comments you may have. I think you are right that it's me that's not using it correctly. I tried holding it different ways and I'm cruising now. I do find out when I say to myself 'YEA...you did 50 in a row!!!' is exactly when I catch my foot...concentration!!
